Our Growing Family
BabyLandon has joined our family for two weeks now and all is well (so far). For those of you who missed me during the last month of my pregnancy check out my huge belly!!!! Oh the last month is so not fun (but well worth a healthy child).
Bryce is adjusting very nicely. When he came to visit mommy and baby in the hospital he was so excited to see his "new baby" he jumped right up on my bed and wanted to pet Landon. He loves petting, kissing and holding Landon. He is also a very good helper and offers the baby his nuk whenever he is crying. Bryce has really taken off developmentally over the past 2 months. He is looking and acting more and more like a big boy and less like a baby (not that I'm happy about it). He is babbeling up a storm and every now and then we catch him saying a word or two in his jibber jabber. He can follow directions, knows almost all body parts, knows most animal sounds, and loves to read books (over and over again). He is also obsessed with crayons and loves to color.
Landon is just so laid back (so far). There is such a huge difference between a preemie and full term infant. It's so nice to have a wireless baby! He eats great, sleeps great, and is just soooooo cute. He had his 1 week check up last Thursday and weighed 7 lbs 4 oz (he gained 6 oz in just 4 days) and was 19 1/2 inches long (up an inch from birth). It is so much fun to be able to relax and enjoy these special days when he is so tiny and needy. He laughs in his sleep and smiles.
Kyle went back to work on Monday. It was very difficult for us all (we liked having daddy home for 12 days). He looks forward to his evening of reading to Bryce and snuggeling with baby Landon.
I am healing very well (much faster than what I had expected). The hardest part of all of this change is not being able to pick up Bryce for 4 weeks (only 2 more to go) but at least he can crawl up on my lap and snuggle with me.
Thanks for reading!!!
Love,
The Rankins
