Summer 2009 (June-August)
This summer has flown by and it seems like we are just now starting to live like it's summer time! Life has been so hectic with moving and kids that I haven't been able to update everyone all summer long.
Bryce is doing terrific. He turned 3 in June and is finally in the 50 percentile for height and weight!!! I thought the day would never come when he would be average. He is talking so well and just finished his at home speech therapy a few weeks ago. Beginning in a few weeks (if he will even qualify by then) I will have to take him to half hour sessions each week. He is officially potty trained and wow is that a huge difference to have only 1 in diapers. All the kiddos I watch became so interested in the process I had to go out and get more potties! He is definately 3 (and when people warned me that 3 is tough they weren't joking!) The last few weeks have been difficult I just keep praying for God to give me patience and understanding (I'm realling rethinking the whole "home preschooling him" this year! haha! He will also be starting a weekly "awana" church club in sept. to help get him out of the house.
Landon is also growing like a weed! He is everywhere (running, climbing, falling!) He is officially 18 months old and is starting to show his stuborness more and more with temper tantrums (although he is cake compared to what we've been through before). I am very sad that my little baby is not so much a baby anymore! He is so silly and just loves to play play play. He likes to sit on any comfy lap and read books. He is obsessed with sesame street (gee did I do something to cause this?) Mr. Landon did start speech therapy as well last week (I know for as much as I talk you wouldn't think my kids would be so quiet!) I just knew we were going down the same path when he still wasn't saying any words at 17 months. So I got him evaluated and he is only talking at a 10 month olds level. I'm not too concerned via this is our second time with this situation, but I'm all for some extra help and one on one time!
Kyle and I are well. I was in a terrible car accident (for those of you who didn't know) about a month ago. Worse part was it was totally my fault (I wasn't paying attention for one second and bam!) Both my cute Scion and the truck I hit were totalled (and yet no one was hurt). The boys were shaken up (especially Bryce who had problem getting back in another car) but as of last week the incident seems to have left their little memories. I am so greatful to God! On the positive note, we got back a good enough chunk of money that we were able to purchase a 2007 Toyota Sienna Minivan!!!! I love it and it's going to be awesome when we go to the beach in september.
Kyle's been working a ton of overtime (can't complain since so many are still without jobs) but we are excited for some upcoming mini trips and vacations to have more family time. We did get to our first (no kid) trip to the Finger Lakes back in June for our 5th anniversary. It was so fun and relaxing to get away, but I was ready to come home to my kids. I'm still babysitting Mon-Thursdays and enjoying it (most days when my 3 year old is behaving :-) I'm excited to start teaching the wee ones in a few weeks (can't wait to get my supplies in the mail!)
We are all unpacked so give us a call if you want to stop by sometime!
