February 2009

Oh what a month this is turning into for the Rankin household!

Landon turned 1 on the 13th (I can't believe it!) He is very close to becoming an official toddler (almost ready to be taking some first steps) He is pushing around his push toys. He is into everything and anything. He loves to chase around his brothers and cousins. He weighs 22.7 lbs now and is doing good on most table foods. His favorite thing in the world is making shadow puppets in the sunlight (it's so cute to watch!) He had a blast with his cookie monster cake (as you can see) Even an ear infection won't stop this kid from birthday cake!

Bryce is continuing to drastically improve his speech. His therapist seems to be impressed and is thinking that if he does qualify for services for next year it will just to be for making his sounds more clear. He goes for a re-eval next month. I have started an official preschool program with Bryce (it's the teacher in me). He can now count to 18, say all letters (tries to sing his ABC song), knows all colors, and is starting to become interested in shapes.

Both boys are battling illnesses this month. Stomach bug a few weeks ago and now we have bronccitus (sp?) and sinus/ear infections. Hence why I'm typing this at 1:00am (got up with a sick child who is now sleeping with daddy in my bed and I can't for the life of me fall back to sleep!) Landon actually had to go to the doc on his birthday and get breathing treatments (so not a fun time!)

Oh and big news for Kyle and I (no I'm not pregnant!) We are putting our house for sale this week. This is kind of all of the sudden for us. We were looking into re-financing since the rates are so low. However when we talked to our realtor/lender we discovered that this is actually the best time for us to upgrade to a larger house. We never in a million years would have thought it to be the right time but we have gained a good amount of equity in our little home that it may just happen. We are both super stressed about this but know that everything will work out if it's meant to be. Hmmm, how does one keep their house neat and tidy at all times with 2 little ones (no make that usually 5 little ones running around!)
